Unity Propaganda Event
Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton will be together on Friday at their first Democratic unity event of the 2008 general election campaign in – appropriately enough – Unity, New Hampshire. The campaign said the event will be called a “Unite for Change” rally.
In dealing with this sham event, I find the soothing advice of Mary Poppins to be extremely fitting. As Mary Poppins is fond of singing “A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down…
PUMAs take heart. This is just another sham event (albeit an elaborately staged one) to try and bring us wayward PUMAs back into the democratic fold.
As odious as this one event will be, it is nothing more than unity propaganda.
Hillary’s participation is a mere effort to honor that pesky promise she made to ‘help keep the party together’.
If the unity performance helps keep Hillary in the game and the dem elite wolves at bay, then we can hold our collective PUMA nose and just get through it.
