Pelosi On the Record

25 Jun

I caught Greta Van Susteren’s interview with Nancy Pelosi  on FOX. It’s really got my blood boiling.

OK, taking a calming breath now.

Greta asked some great questions about Obama lacking real quantifiable experience. Pelosi retorted that lack of experience is really an asset. Sure it is, if you’re running for student council.

She thinks: “the American people spoke clearly that they wanted a fresh new judgement that Senator Obama would bring.”

Well Madame Speaker, 18 million primary voters actually chose the other candidate. Ooops! I guess that slipped your mind (snark).

More from Madame Speaker:

“His lack of Washington experience, in my view, is a giant plus because he comes here free. Free and fresh and new. Not hamstrung by Washington D.C.- which is a city of the status quo- and I, as Speaker, have tried to break those shackles. But it can’t happen until we have a new President of the United States who understands that…”

Can’t you just imagine all those poor suffering Dem leaders shackled to their desks in the Senate? We have to send Obama to Washington so he can save them! (snark)

“Senator Obama is a new fresher experience”

It sounds like product marketing designed to sell us something we don’t need in the guise of something new and better.

I guess Obama is like a new improved laundry detergent. Not only will his ‘hope and change’ get out those stubburn stains of the past administration, it’ll leave Washington smelling fresh too! Oh boy! (snark)

When Greta asked Pelosi about all the Rev. Wright hoopla surrounding Obama, she had this to say:

“Look, I’m just glad he went to church.”

“All these people talking about their faith and their religion, I don’t think any of them should be held accountable for everything their pastors say in their Churches.”

When you’re running for President of the United States of America and your pastor of 20 years (who you identify as your spiritual mentor and appoint to a faith community within your campaign) is revealed to have said hate filled anti-American statements from the pulpit, I think it’s kind of a big deal. But, hey, that’s just me.

Greta will have entire video interview up at her blog. Check it out for yourself and just remember to stay calm and breathe.

House fails to move gas pump price gouging bill
By H. JOSEF HEBERT, Associated Press Writer 2 hours, 1 minute ago

WASHINGTON – House Democrats failed Tuesday to resurrect a bill to punish price gouging at the gas pump, while maneuvering to block Republican attempts to expand offshore drilling, an idea gaining in popularity amid $4-a-gallon gas prices. Action on legislation that would assure continuation of the ban on oil and natural gas drilling in most of the country’s coastal waters was put off until later this summer after it became increasingly clear that Republican lawmakers may have the votes to lift the drilling moratorium.

Nancy Pelosi has been a disastrous Speaker of the House. Her unconstitutional statement about taking impeachment off the table created much of what we are being forced to swallow now – our government turning away from the crimes of the current administration. I can’t wait until she’s gone.
