More legal troubles for ACORN…

Update: ACORN caught in voter fraud activities in 10 states (so far)

VIA www.HillaryClintonForum.net

About 8:30am I heard on FOX news that in MO they found over 86 voter registration that were invalid because they all had the name Monica Ray. They said they think there maybe as many as 800.

A few minutes later in IN they were reporting that more then half of the forms that were given by ACORN (1,100) are fake voters.

Fox than began to report there is an investigation in 6 states, then 9 states, now they are reporting 10 states.

By memory these are the states they said… IN, NV, NM, MI, OH, PA, FL, WI, VA and NC (I believe these are the correct states) Didn’t hear the 10th.

Will update with a link when it is available from FOX

Via FoxNews:

ACORN’s Las Vegas headquarters has been raided by Nevada authorities looking for evidence of voter fraud.Nevada state authorities seized records and computers Tuesday from the Las Vegas office of an organization that tries to get low-income people registered to vote, after fielding complaints of voter fraud.

Bob Walsh, spokesman for the Nevada secretary of state’s office, told FOXNews.com the raid was prompted by ongoing complaints about “erroneous” registration information being submitted by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, also called ACORN.  The group was submitting the information through a voter sign-up drive known as Project Vote.

“Some of them used non-existent names, some of them used false addresses and some of them were duplicates of previously filed applications,” Walsh said, describing the complaints, which largely came from the registrar in Clark County, Nev. He said some registrations used the names of Dallas Cowboys football players.

Walsh said agents from both the secretary of state’s office and Nevada attorney general’s office conducted the raid, and “took a bunch of stuff.”

ACORN spokesman Charles Jackson confirmed the group’s Nevada office was raided.

It’s not the first time ACORN’s been under investigation for irregularities in registration records.

In 2006, ACORN committed what the Washington Secretary of State Sam Reed called the “worse case of election fraud” in the state’s history.

In the case, ACORN submitted just over 1,800 new voter registration forms, but there was a problem. The names were made up — all but six of the 1,800 submissions were fakes.

Add this to the growing list of States where ACORN faces legal charges for their dubious actions.

I guess the liberal dems who are behind ACORN learned how to rig elections from the republicans, but missed the lesson on how not to get caught doing it.

Leave it to Pelosi and her gang to screw up what should have been a dem victory year. If we lose this election because the powers that be backed Obama instead of Hillary, they’ll have no one to blame but themselves.

ACORN is not involved in voter fraud. This is a campaign by Republicans to illegally intimidate poor voters and overturn the results of a free and fair election in the US.

This reminds me of how Florida officials in 2000 and 2004 illegally disenfranchised non-felons as felons.

Libhomo, thanks for the laugh. “ACORN is not involved in voter fraud”- that’s so laughable.

ACORN was caught in Indiana (where I live) for registering dead people as voters! Last time I checked that’s illegal. They’ve also been caught registering underage kids who are not able to vote. That’s voter fraud again.

In Indiana, the election boards have to work overtime to recheck all voter submissions by ACORN to ensure the shenanigans stop. It’s impacting their ability to get valid registrations completed on time because they need to spend so much time verifying every single ACORN applications- which are proving more false than valid.

I don’t take kindly to my tax payer money being spent to combat the corrupt actions of ACORN workers in my state, just so we can have a fair, honest election.

Here’s a bit from a story in the Northwest Indiana Times:

Elections Board Director Sally LaSota and Ruthann Hoagland, a county elections board technologist overseeing voter registration, said Wednesday it appears some ACORN vote canvassers pulled names and addresses from telephone books and forged their signatures.

Curley said one registration form was filled out in the name and address of Jimmy John’s, a Crown Point fast-food outlet. Another registration, dated in August, is in the name of a Gary man who died Nov. 16, 2007, according to his death certificate.

Hoagland said large numbers of voter registration forms bore signatures all in the same apparent handwriting style.

LaSota and Hoagland said they instructed ACORN on how to legally register voters, but apparently the organization’s canvassers broke rules to meet ACORN-set voter registration quotas to get paid. They said ACORN organizers promised to fire workers who were cheating.

LaSota said hundreds of legitimate potential voters may be unable to cast a ballot in the Nov. 4 general election because ACORN delivered incomplete registrations just recently to the county. LaSota said her staff won’t have enough time to research, complete and enter legitimate voter registrations before the mid-month deadline.

I’m in CT and we’ve had concerns with ACORN here too. This comes from an article in yesterday’s Connecticut Post:

HARTFORD — The State Elections Enforcement Commission has opened an investigation into allegations that a community activist organization submitted at least 10 false voter-registration cards in Bridgeport.

One of the phony registrations was for a 7-year-old girl in the Marina Village housing complex, whose age was listed as 27 on the voter card.

Another registration came from a man who later said he couldn’t have completed the voter card purported to be his because he was in jail on the date of the document.
