    Summarized: a lower percentage of much more is usually more than a higher percentage of much less.

    There’s an interesting parallel with what’s called “price elasticity” in economics. When you raise the price of a good or service, some drop in demand is expected. Highly “elastic” goods drop more, but “inelastic” demand holds sales volumes better.

    So it appears that investment and profit-making activity is highly “elastic”; it falls off rapidly as the tax-price increases.
