CQ WEEKLY – VANTAGE POINT
July 14, 2008 – Page 1877
The senator from New York is said to be negotiating a respectful presence followed by a graceful exit from next month’s Democratic convention, and last week the party announced that Barack Obama would formally accept the party’s nomination in the stadium built for the Denver Broncos. The Denver Group: Keeping Dem Party Democratic
5 Jul
The Denver Group formed to insure that the Democratic National Committee respect and carry out the democratic process at the convention in Denver this August. The Denver Group intends to advocate, and if necessary pressure, the Democratic National Committee to meet these goals:
* Hold an open convention
* Senator Clinton’s name on the ballot
* Speeches allowed by supporters of Senator Clinton on behalf of her candidacy
* A roll call vote
* No coronation
The founders of The Denver Group are Heidi Li Feldman and Marc Rubin. They are definitely heroes for Hillary!
The Denver Group: Keeping Dems Honest

Howard Dean himself, was on the ballot in 2004 and he had many, many less pledged delegates than Hillary.
What does Obama have to say about this? Well, he refuses to ‘negotiate the convention’ at this time. When did standard practices (like having all candidates with pledged delegate appear on the ballot) become a point of negotiation? When did ‘presumptive nominee’ Obama become ‘the one’ who decides it!?
It’s all so frustrating and irritating you just want to spit in their eyes and call it a day. But we can’t. We need to press on. We need to harness the PUMA power and demand (once again) that the Dem leaders actually abide by democratic principles. Continue reading
